Owen’s Fish Camp!

Our new favorite dining spot! Literally one of the best places that I’ve eaten at in the 6 years that we have lived here. Dinner was perfect for a rainy day in Sarasota. The place is a locals place off the beaten path, but is certainly no secret. We were lucky to get there when they opened and was in the first group of people to be seated. Within 30mins of opening the place was packed with an hour wait! To drink, my husband had beer… Cigar City Lager… and I had the fresh made Sangria. Both were yummy and deserving of a second round. As an appetizer, we had their boiled peanuts. Yes, I said boiled peanuts! Any place that serves boiled peanuts is already a favorite in my book! So good! For dinner, my husband had the Jambalaya which he said was really good and equal to NOLA and I had the Cheese Grits with Shrimp and Andouille Sausage and it was amazing! I’m very particular about shrimp&grits and this one is in the top 2 of the best shrimp and grits that I’ve had in a restaurant. The first being the Fish House in Pensacola. We were so full but couldn’t leave without getting dessert! Since the place was so crowded with people waiting for tables and due to being so full, we decided to get the dessert to go and enjoy it tonight while we watch the Grammys. I ordered the Bourbon Pecan Pie and my husband got the Key Lime Pie. I’m sure both will be as amazing as the rest of our meal. If you’ve never eaten at Owen’s Fish Camp in downtown Sarasota, you’re missing out! I highly recommend you give this place a try!!!20180128_164520
